To set wildlife population objectives for areas of Colorado, wildlife
managers need to understand complex habitat relationships to make sound
land management decisions. Public land managers must look beyond their ownership
boundaries - wildlife needs are often met on private lands. Conflicts can
arise when wildlife such as elk and deer use or move through private lands.
We were funded by the Colorado Division of Wildlife's Habitat Partnership Program to apply a model we have developed called the Habitat Assessment Model to areas of Colorado. Ultimately, we informed the Division of Wildlife's planning process, in hopes of reducing wildlife conflicts with livestock and other private land owner interests.

in applying the model across Colorado. We also provide
products from the project, including a manual that
reviews the work in detail.
