Structure of the IRC Models

The IRC models consist of the CENTURY5 model embedded within the IRC model, and the IRCMPI model. The Century5 model simulates ecosystem processes for one site or cohort, including plant growth, decomposition, and soil hydrology. The daily time-step version of Century5 is used by IRC for gridded simulations. The IRCMPI model runs multiple IRC simulations concurrently, using an MPI implementation such as MPICH.
