We help land managers decide how many large grazing wild animals
should be on their lands. To set wildlife population objectives for areas of Colorado, wildlife managers need to understand complex habitat relationships to make sound land management decisions. Public land managers must look beyond their ownership boundaries - wildlife needs are often met on private lands. Conflicts can arise when wildlife such as elk and deer use or move through private lands.

We were funded by the Colorado Division of Wildlife's Habitat Partnership Program to apply a model we have developed called the Habitat Assessment Model to areas of Colorado. Ultimately, we informed the Division of Wildlife's planning process, in hopes of reducing wildlife conflicts with livestock and other private land owner interests.

In these pages you will find an introduction to the research that we do, contacts for us and links to some of the sources we use, and the status of our progress in applying the model across Colorado. We also provide products from the project, including a manual that reviews the work in detail.
