Harvard Museum of Natural History Celebrates Explore Your World! Biodiversity MonthEvent type: Biodiversity Fair In May 2002, HMNH will join museums around the U.S. to celebrate "Explore Your World! Biodiversity Month 2002." This month-long celebration of biodiversity at HMNH features two new exhibits, a "Biodiversity is Good for Us!" museum search, hands-on discovery zones and "Creature Feature" live animal encounters every weekend. Other exhibits include a colorful poster exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution, an exhibition that shows how museum collections help scientists understand diversity, and a self-guided tour of the Glass Flower exhibition. Also included is a May 9th evening lecture, "Declining Amphibians: On the Verge of an Environmental Catastrophe," by Harvard Professor James Hanken, Chair of the Declining Amphibian Populations Task Force.
