Harvard Museum of Natural History Celebrates Explore Your World! Biodiversity Month

In May 2002, HMNH will join museums around the U.S. to celebrate "Explore Your World! Biodiversity Month 2002." This month-long celebration of biodiversity at HMNH features two new exhibits, a "Biodiversity is Good for Us!" museum search, hands-on discovery zones and "Creature Feature" live animal encounters every weekend. Other exhibits include a colorful poster exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution, an exhibition that shows how museum collections help scientists understand diversity, and a self-guided tour of the Glass Flower exhibition. Also included is a May 9th evening lecture, "Declining Amphibians: On the Verge of an Environmental Catastrophe," by Harvard Professor James Hanken, Chair of the Declining Amphibian Populations Task Force.
