Honors Biology Celebration of Biodiversity Gala

The Honors Biology students at the Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, Maryland will end the school year with a study of Biodiversity. They will conduct research, do activities and give presentations that will increase the awareness of the school body. The unit will culminate in a gala where the girls will each make and wear a head dress depicting an endangered organism that they have studied. They will each prepare a food item from an area where the organism is found to share with their classmates. The Science Department has decided to make Biodiversity the theme for the school year 2002-2003. This coming year will be big year for our school since we will be moving into a new science builidng. We plan to make Biodiversity Education/Awareness a goal for that year.
