Site Description
The GLIDE site
in Jena, Germany (a nature reserve since 1990) consists
of the southeast exposed slope of the Mittlere Saaletal.
The site has triassic landscapes (Saale-Ilm Plateau) and
man-made grasslands due to mowing and possibly viticulture
from the Middle Ages up to the end of 19th Century). Since
1997, primary research has been on the effects of slope-gradient
to vegetation and faunal communities.
