Designed as part contest, part festival, part scientific endeavor, the BioBlitz brings together scientists from across the region to conduct a rapid-assessment biological survey of an urban park. The public is invited to observe the scientists' activities, to interact with them, and to participate in an array of other activities that are presented by the Museum and a host of invited nature-oriented organizations. The purpose of the BioBlitz is to increase the public's awareness of the variety of life in their immediate neighborhood and the services these species provide to improve the quality of our lives.
