BioBlitzA BioBlitz is a tool for biodiversity exploration, education and investigation.
Usually coordinated by museums, botanic gardens, or local authorities,
a BioBlitz brings together scientists and naturalists in an area to
document biodiversity present at their back door (e.g. a park or natural
area). Designed as part scientific endeavor, part contest, part educational
event a BioBlitz pits biologists in a race against time to see how many
species they can count in a 24 hour biological survey. New information
on the distribution, occurrence of fauna and flora is generated, and
associated outreach activities raise public awareness of biodiversity
